Qatar PM Discusses Lebanon Stability With French President’s Envoy

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with French President’s Envoy to Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian during his visit to the country on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Qatar and France, along with discussions on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Both sides reviewed the latest political and security developments in Lebanon.

During the talks, the Prime Minister emphasized that Lebanon’s stability is essential for broader regional stability. He stressed the importance of all parties adhering to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and fully respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sheikh Mohammed also reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, calling on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities in halting violations and preserving Lebanon’s security. He highlighted the important role of the Quintet Group in supporting Lebanon and affirmed that Qatar will continue coordinating closely with its partners to support Lebanon’s recovery, development, and long-term stability.
