Andy Murray has expressed significant support for Jack Draper, a promising British tennis player, commending his recovery from fitness issues and remarking on his impressive level of play as Wimbledon approaches. Draper, who aims to resume full competition, has been diligently training at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre following a drop to No. 113 in the world rankings due to numerous injuries.

Despite setbacks involving his knee, elbow, and shoulder, Draper has been working under the guidance of Murray, who is assisting in an advisory coaching capacity. Murray has noted that the 23-year-old is gradually regaining his physical form and has been pleasantly surprised by the breadth of Draper’s game. He described Draper’s tennis as “very strong” and “complete,” emphasizing the young player’s quick learning ability and the growing confidence he is showing as he returns to regular training sessions.

In preparation for his comeback, Draper is slated to compete in Eastbourne, with the primary aim of regaining match rhythm and enhancing his stamina throughout various tournaments. Murray, while supportive of Draper’s journey, has made it clear that his coaching role remains flexible, accounting for his own family obligations. He stressed that any coaching engagement must strike a balance between his professional duties and personal responsibilities.

Meanwhile, at Queen’s Club, British wildcard Arthur Fery made headlines by advancing to his first ATP quarter-final after defeating Adrian Mannarino in straight sets. Top seed Alex de Minaur also showcased his strong form, securing a comfortable victory over Dennis Shapovalov, further highlighting the dynamic landscape of British tennis talent.
